A cache where you can reminisce about the Cold War and the socialist era in Yugoslavia :)
When you arrive at the location, you will find yourself next to the nuclear fallout shelter integrated with the "Ante Jakić" apartment complex & neighborhood, built between 1973 and 1978. The eponymous street and the complex is now called "Sime Matavulja", but the old name is still used informally. This fallout shelter is one out of a half a dozen similar fallout shelters built in Banja Luka during the Cold War. The apartment complex is also a good example of the residential architecture in socialist-era Yugoslavia where housing research was directed towards finding the optimal urbanistic solutions for the newly formed lifestyle of the socialist society.
The fallout shelters are no longer maintained and most of the equipment (air filtering systems, power generators) and food & clothing supplies have been removed or stolen. During the 1990s you could enter and explore the shelters on your own, but by now most are locked and inaccessible. Some have been used as night clubs or shooting ranges.
The name of the cache comes from a very popular 1983 American TV movie about a fictional full-scale nuclear exchange between the United States and the Soviet Union. The movie was also widely shown on Yugoslav TV stations during the 1980s. Since PG (parental guidance) wasn't really a thing back then, a lot of young children have seen the movie "too soon" and have been permanently scarred by the experience :)
