The cache is hidden somewhere just off the Castle Rock trail. There's more than one way to get to it but starting at the trailhead off hwy 18 makes for a nice hike. It's a well traveled and well maintained trail, about 2 miles round trip. The view from the top if Castle Rock is worth the effort of clawing your way up if you are so inclined. There's very limited parking for the trail and I think you need an Adventure Pass. If the parking area is full head a short distance east, hwy18/Talbot - there's usually plenty of parking there.
The cache is in a 8" high clear plastic container with a red lid and a 4 1/2" opening. The original content of the cache include: log book/pen/pencil, a mini magnetic chess set, superballs, mini flashlite key chain, I (heart) California pin, pen light, sniff tissue, deck of fish fact cards, glow in the dark troll, pooping pig key chain, mask light switch cover, bead key chain and a new "Rusty" surf t-shirt (boys L). Please don't put food of any kind in the cache. The critters around here would kill for a powerbar and I don't think the container is smell proof.
This is a nice area to take a break and have lunch. If you're looking for a great sandwich place try Ingrid's Deli at 42530 Moonridge Road, (909) 585-4266.
