DO NOT PARK ON HIGHWAY 11! There is ample parking in the attached lots!
How about a little fishing trip! Didn't bring a pole? That's OK!  We've got you covered!
There is a lock on this cache. To get the combination, you will need to do a little fishing! A fishing pole is provided at GZ in the tube beneath the cache.
Play the game, open the lock, and then undertake one last step to sign the log!

About the Jackson County Agritourism Geo-Trail

The Jackson County Agritourism Geo-Trail (established 2021) is a fun trail taking you to Agritourism sites around Jackson County. Each site will highlight an agritourism feature!
The trail consists of 14 unique "gadget" caches.Â
Before you start, print a copy of the JCAT Passport (Link), or pick up a copy at one of the following locations:
| Site Name |
Address |
| Crawford Long Museum |
28 College St, Jefferson, GA 30549 |
| Braselton Downtown Development Authority |
9924 Davis St #8, Braselton, GA 30517 |
| Jackson County Chamber of Commerce |
270 Athens St, Jefferson, GA 30549 |
| Historic Courthouse of Jackson County |
85 Washington St, Jefferson, GA 30549 |
Â
At each of the 14 stops, you will find a unique gadget cache. These caches will all be super-easy to find but will require you to solve some sort of "puzzle" to sign the logbook. Â
Each cache in the series is numbered (JCAT-01, for example). After you sign the log for each cache, you will find a stamp and inkpad inside the cache. Find the spot on your passport that corresponds to the stop number and stamp the passport. When you find all 14 caches and complete the passport, you can trade it in for a free trackable tag (while quantities last)! Additionally, you will have the opportunity to purchase a deluxe trackable coin.Â
You can turn in your completed passport at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce (See address above).  The Chamber is normally open M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Hours are subject to change. Check with the Chamber before heading out. For the kickoff weekend, there will be additional places to pick up tags. See event communications for more details...
Note that there is no charge to get a passport, visit any of the cache sites, log any of the caches, or collect your trackable tag! Â

Featured Agricultural Item
On each cache page, we highlight one agricultural component. For this cache, the featured item is Aquaculture!Â
Aquaculture (Not be confused with Aquaman), is the production of aquatic animals and plants under controlled conditions for all or parts of their lifecycles. In Georgia, trout, prawns, and catfish are the primary focus of production. Â
Catfish are often farmed in ponds built over clay-rich soils. The pods average 10-20 acres and are usually 4-6 feet deep. Catfish are typically harvested at 18 months and average 1 to 1.5 pounds!
Â
Additional Notes (SPOILERS!!)
Some of the gadget caches can be a little tricky. While we want you to enjoy figuring them out, we definitely don’t want you to get stuck, so to make sure you complete the cache, we are giving you some major spoilers here and telling you how to solve the field puzzle.  To increase the challenge, avoid reading this section!!
There are two steps to getting the combination to the log:
First of all- go fishing! One of the "fish" you catch will give you the combination!
When you open the door, you will see a metal ball and a question, with some answers. Insert the ball in the correct hole. When you get the correct answer, you will hear a bell! Check the back and you will have the log!
