The Croatian coastal station for the NAVTEX service is located at the given coordinates.
NAVTEX is a radio service introduced in 1997 for the text-based transmission of safety and weather information (Maritime Safety Information) and is a sub-service of the worldwide Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
For the transmission of information, the world is divided into 21 “NAVareas” (internationally defined sea warning areas). In these areas the individual transmitters are designated with letters from A to Z. Stations in an area transmit one after the other in order to avoid interference. The range of a transmitting station is up to 600 nautical miles. The NAVTEX stations are coordinated by the International Maritime Organization.
The messages are transmitted in English using the SITOR-B radio telex system on the frequency 518 kcs. The Hvar radio station also uses the frequency 490 kcs in Croatian.

An den angegebenen Koordinaten befindet sich die kroatische Küstenfunkstelle für den NAVTEX Dienst.
NAVTEX ist ein im Jahre 19977 eingeführter Funkdienst zur textbasierten Übermittlung von Sicherheits- und Wetterinformationen (Maritime Safety Information) und ist ein Teildienst des weltweiten Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems (GMDSS).
Für die Aussendung der Informationen ist die Welt in 21 „NAVareas“ (international festgelegte Seewarngebiete) eingeteilt. In diesen sind die einzelnen Sender mit Buchstaben von A bis Z bezeichnet. Stationen in einer Area senden jeweils nacheinander, um gegenseitige Störungen zu vermeiden. Die Reichweite eines Senders beträgt bis zu 600 Seemeilen. Die Koordination der NAVTEX-Stationen erfolgt durch die Internationale Seeschifffahrts-Organisation.
Die Nachrichten werden mit dem Funkfernschreibverfahren SITOR-B auf der Frequenz 518 kHz in englischer Sprache übertragen. Die Funkstation Hvar nutzt zusätzlich auch noch die Frequenz 490 kHz in kroatischer Sprache.
