Riverview Park was an amusement park in Des Moines from 1915 to 1978. What began as a zoological collection and trolley stop in the Highland Park neighborhood became Riverview Amusement Park, a popular family entertainment destination. It was built upon an island and accessed via a wooden bridge.
Now the park features a children's play area based on the themes of some of those early amusement park rides, the Riviera amphitheater, and a path around the park for recreation. It has played host to numerous outdoor concerts, movie festivals, and many more events. As The NVG stated in 2020, "This place is going to be something next year," and now it is!
BYOP for this cache, and take a moment to admire the river view too!
