Having populated this stretch of the Santa Fe Rail Trail with mostly simple geocaches, Leatherboot Kid decided to up the difficulty level and replaced one of our simples with a field puzzle of his own design and about a month of gathering the necessary parts from the hardware store and neighbors. After a short hike/bike of under a mile from the parking area at Ave Vista Grande, which will also take you past some of our other hides, the cache should be easy enough to find. (If you are a resident of Eldorado, you can also access for a shorter hike from the cul de sac at Verano Way off Verano Loop).
You may need some time to solve this particular one, so we've placed it near a friendly railroad-tie bench where you can sit and contemplate. Please be gentle, brute force will just break, not solve the puzzle. Replace all pieces as found to reset the fun for next seeker. We'd love to have you set a stop watch and tell us how long it takes you to solve it, so we can adjust difficulty if it turns out to be too hard or too easy. Have at it!
