I spy with my wondering eye...... 4 Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

MainePublisher: Greetings,
Geocaching is more fun when caches are available to find. To help improve the overall caching experience,
Geocaching HQ created an algorithm to calculate a hidden Health Score for each geocache. A low Health Score provides an indication that the cache may need attention from the owner. Our goal is to improve the overall geocaching experience and avoid frowny faces due to missing or broken caches.

This cache currently has a low health score. You should have received an email from a member of our support staff. Here are some recommendations to address the underlying issues:

If the cache is ready to find, post an owner maintenance log to let the community know.
Maintenance may be required. If so, disable the cache while you take action.
Sometimes, simply adjusting the D/T rating will help the community know what to expect.
Archiving the cache is a useful way to address long term issues allowing you to take as long as you want.

The first step is to communicate with the community. In almost all cases, your plan will be acceptable even if it extends beyond expectation. But, keep in mind your cache may be blocking someone who wants to place an active cache.

Please take the first step and log using either Write Note or Owner Maintenance to inform the community and the reviewer of your intentions. To be fair to the community, please respond within the next 30 days. If you do not respond in a timely manner, the cache page will be archived to reset the gameboard. But, don't despair, you can resubmit a new cache page once the issues are addressed.

Geocache Description:

Town of Hartford was one of the first Vermont towns to be granted a town charter in 1761 after the French and Indian war. In 1797 Hartford's future in the 18th and 19th centuries was set in motion when the dam was built on the white river.

The dam provided power for the sawmill and gristmill and brought settlers to live and work in Hartford village.

Industries provided economic growth to Hartford village through the early 1900s. By 19th century Hartford village was primarily business and industrial center in the area. Mill owners constructed boarding houses and dwellings for their workers, and merchants and proprietors built their homes on a grander scale.

By the 20th century Hartford village was plagued by fires that forever changed what the village once was. The town becane primarily residential and the final wollen mill closed its doors in 1957.

You will still find some of the historic buildings stand today but are serving as multi-family rental properties.

About the cache:
