Geocache Description:

Estonians have always honoured trees. It is believed that a tree, like other living creatures, has a soul. More special trees were considered sacred and protection was asked from them in turn for sacrifices. Oaks, lime trees and pines are most often considered to be sacred trees in Estonia. However, it was the shape, location or the relation to some important event rather than the species that made a tree sacred.

Read more about it and the sacrificial trees in Kõpu from the stand. Leave the tree alone!

Puudesse on eestlased alati austusega suhtunud.
