NEPAG FALL 2021 CITO is being held at Hickory Run State Park!
Start Time - 9:00 a.m. End Time - 11:30 a.m.
Unfortunately, so much sudden traffic in the outdoors inevitably means trash is left behind. This Fall we'll have a chance to remove that impact and help keep this beautiful area clean.
The great news is that for this CITO we will be collaborating with the staff at Hickory Run State Park to clean up two areas which so many of us use for geocaching, running, hiking, fishing and camping.
The Day Use Area and The Shades of Death Trail
will be our main focus! If we have a large turnout, we'll add the Hawk Falls Trail to our CITO list!
Additional information:
1) We will meet at the Visitors Center and then send everyone off to CITO.
2) The park will be celebrating National Public Lands day, so expect muggles! Don't be afraid to spread the word about geocaching!
3) Bags will be provided at the meeting area. There will also be some grabbers available.
4) Dogs are required to be on a leash at ALL times.
5) There will be several levels of terrain, depending on which trails we clean up.
So, come on out and join us in beautifying NEPA outdoors!
As a BONUS, NEPAG has been awarded the chance to place some new caches in the park. Everyone who participates in the CITO and finds the cache(s) can share in the FTF's!
NEPAG FALL 2021 CITO participants who have not won a NEPAG CITO Coin previously will have opportunity to win one in the free drawing after the clean-up.
Let's get out and make a difference, earn some souvenir’s and reward ourselves in cleaning up the NEPA land we love!
Please bring appropriate clothing; suggestions include appropriate footwear, gloves and a great attitude!
Please plan to work in pairs, with at least one person having a cell phone for emergencies. "No safety risks are anticipated, but as with any outdoor activity there is the possibility of minor injury. To this end, all group members have been advised to wear proper attire including gloves, boots and any other items necessary for personal protection while in the outdoors. We provide gloves, hydration, cleanup materials and assistance to any member requesting them. There is no damage risk to property, but much benefit from having garbage removed. In the event debris can not be safely removed then coordinates for site will be marked and provided to park staff for further consideration. There are no spectators at CITO activities."
