Rigoli, frazione di San Giuliano terme, si trova alle pendici del Monte Pisano. Aquistò importanza strategica già nel XI secolo con l'espansione dell'infuenza politica e commerciale di Pisa.
La Pieve di San Marco risale al XI secolo, e la fonte battesimale risale addirittura ad epoca longobarda. Nei secoli la chiesa è stata ampliata, sia in lunghezza sia in altezza. All'interno si trova "una pregevole tavola dipinta con Madonna in trono e angeli, firmata da Turino Vanni pittore pisano tra Trecento e Quattrocento" (Wikipedia). La chiesa è aperta solo per le funzioni religiose.

Rigoli is a small town near San Giuliano Terme, near Pisa, and it lies beneath the Monte Pisano. It became a strategically important point during the XI century, when Pisa was expanding its political and economic influence.
The Pieve di San Marco dates back to the XI century, and the baptismal font dates back to the Lombardic period. Later, the construction has expanded both in lenght and height. Inside the church can be found an interesting painting signed by Turino Vanni, a painter active in the Pisa area between the XIV and XV century.
The chruch is open only for religious functions.
