Geocache Description:

My 7 year old daughter and I went out Scuppernong Trails to hide a new cache for the Wisconsin Geocaching Association's Ice Age Trail series.  She loves geocaching and is finding more and more caches without my help.  Now she wants to start hiding some and we found a couple of spots along the trail.  I picked out the general area and she picked out where to hide it.  This happens to be my 200th hide.

Cache is located in the Southern Kettle Moraine in the Scuppernong Springs area.  This cache is located at a trail junction between the 1200 mile Ice Age Trail and the Scuppernong Green Trail.

From the southern parking coordinates the cache is a 3 mile loop either along the IAT and pairing up with the green trail.

The Scuppernong trails are open for multi-uses; hikers in the summer and winter, cross country skiers and snow shoers in winter (although not groomed). There are three color-coded loop trails ranging from just over 2 miles to 5 miles. The Scuppernong area provides convenient parking, water and a vault toilet. There is an indoor shelter that can be rented. The trails have a nice rolling characteristic through hardwood forest and pine plantations. Hikers may also access the Ice Age National Scenic Trail from this trailhead.  A state park vehicle sticker is required.  Anyone 16 years and older cross country skiing will require a state trail pass as well.
