A World-Wide Flash mob is an event designed to bring cachers together at the same time in various locations to promote geocaching! In 2019 over 10,000 people attended hundreds of events in dozens of countries throughout the world to celebrate this day.
This is the 18th year the "WWFM" has been held and this is the 5th annual (sort-of) event in Erie! Year 17 (2020) had a planned date of early June, but that got cancelled and apparently changed to sometime in November. I never got the notice so no event happened around here last year.
The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18th. Please gather at the posted coordinates at that time. At around 1:15 p.m. we will get together for a group photo. The Event will end at 1:30 p.m. and you can take off and cache, check out one of the nice eating establishments in the area, or go for a swim!
The Theme of this WWFM event (There is ALWAYS a theme!) is BLUE! Wear blue clothes, hats, socks, facepaint(?) and/or bring something blue. Last time the theme was umbrellas, so bring a blue umbrella because it never rains on WWFM day, but this could be the one time it does! (NOTE: This not a requirement, just a suggestion!) As always, cookies or other snacks are welcome at these events!
There will be official event "trading items" given to the 1st (approximately) 37 people that I see!
