My wiener dog used to come out here with me to do some exploring and maybe a little fishing back in her glory years. I like to walk through here once in a while yet and think back on the good times. At some point you will have to veer off the main trail and head down to the river. There are multiple ways to get here, some more difficult than others. You could take a kayak or tube down the river also, I suppose. The trail was muddy and slippery today and the rain brought the river high enough to flood the trail recently. The boardwalks down here are sketchy and the mosquitoes are deadly. Long pants and sleeves are a good idea and don't wear your good shoes (I'll never learn). You are looking for an ammo can. Maybe you can get here in the winter depending on the snowfall.
