Klofningsnes peninsula is a relatively lonely area in West Iceland. Not many tourists come here. The northern coast is called Skarðsströnd, the southern coast Fellströnd. The landscape is breathtaking! And if you are looking for solitude, this is the place for you ;-)
The cache is hidden on one of the smaller mountain ridges called Grafarfjall, at an altutude of roughly 220 meters. From Skarðskirkja church it takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how fit and experienced you are in hiking. The terrain is pathless, but relatively easy to hike. Of course, you do this at your own risk! Please be aware that you are on private property at the church, and behave accordingly (the church is nevertheless a publicly accessible sight).
I wish you lots of fun on this short hike. Enjoy the spectacular view, your photos are highly appreciated ;-)
I will be able to maintain the cache and check the logbook from time to time. Please only log the cache online if you have really written your name in the logbook.
Note: in winter, the cache might be inaccessible.
