Geocache Description:

Table Rock in Dixville Notch provides a viewpoint that is like no other location we have ever visited.  If you read online reviews of the hike to Table Rock, you'll find that many people feel that it is the best hike in New England!  The relatively short hike is the epitome of a "bang for your buck" hike, with a variety of routes to get there, making the destination attainable for people comfortable with different levels of challenge.

Please be aware, however, that the area near Table Rock itself is not suitable for young children, people with balance issues, or those who have a significant fear of heights.  The final 50 yards of the trail earn this location the nickname of "Terrifying Table Rock."

This cache, though, is hidden just before those last 50 yards of the trail, enabling it to be found without having to test one's fear of heights or require searching in an unsafe location.  Additionally, the end of this description includes explicit "spoiler" directions to locate the cache, to avoid requiring finders to search for the cache in a potentially dangerous manner.

We hope that you enjoy this unique location as much as we have!

Trailhead for Trail #57, Table Rock Climbing Trail

Spoiler Information for Finding Cache:  At the top of the Table Rock Climbing Trail, proceed ten feet across the "T" intersection (a very short distance into the woods), and look to the right where there will be a jagged boulder of about 2-3 feet in height.  Squeeze between the boulder and the adjacent tree. Ten feet further ahead of you and to the right there will be a sheltered nook at shoulder height in the vertical portion of the rock outcropping.  The cache is placed there on top of a flat rock, behind another rock to keep it from falling to the ground.  Spoiler photos are below.

Spoiler #2 - The Cache in Its Nook in the Rock Outcropping
