Costruito nei primi anni ’50 da un progetto attribuito, nonostante i dubbi, all’ingegnere Pierluigi Nervi nasce come magazzino per lo stoccaggio del sale. Le saline di Molentargius sono in piena attività: dopo essere stato trattato, il minerale viene caricato sulle navi e prende la via del mare per essere esportato in tutta Italia.
Alla chiusura delle saline (1985) l'edificio andò in rovina, e da poco è terminato il restauro, in attesa di un concorso di idee per il riutilizzo.
Built in the '50s of last century (probably projected by Pierluigi Nervi), it was the warehouse for the salt extracted in Molentargius saltworks.
After refining, the salt was loaded in the ships and exported all over Italy.
After closing the saltworks (1985), the building went broke, and the restoration ended in 2021, waiting for a new life.
