_____ years ago, Lake Bonneville in northern Utah breached an ancient lava rock dike releasing a 410-foot-high (120 m) flood crest, which flowed from the modern Great Salt Lake to the Pacific Ocean via the Columbia River. The water scoured the land and deposited non-indigenous rock across the landscape.
