1991年に始まった団地建替えに伴う発掘調査で、屋敷、池、墓の跡と共に大量の陶磁器が発見されました。さらに奈良時代や縄文時代の住居跡や旧石器時代の石器も見つかっており、古くからこの地に人が住んでいたことが分かりました。
