When our sons were young we wanted to show them the joy of hiking in the woods, getting fresh air and enjoying life. One of our favorite places was the Grace Richardson Conservation area just North of the Merritt Parkway. To entice them to complete the walk, we told them about a magical tree that dropped candy on the ground when they completed the journey. On the way back from the trip, we would always stop at the "Candy Tree", ask them to stand on the large, very flat stone and shake the special tree vigorously. Each time they would find a few pieces of candy on the ground.
Years later, our oldest son recounted the story of the "Candy Tree" to his girlfriend and decided to take her there one day. What a surprise for her when she turned around, looked down, and found, not candy, but an engagement ring!
We challenge you to find that rock and see if there is anything there for you!
