Geocache Description:

The cache is near a historical train site. The Matsqui station of the Canadian National Railway line is northeast of the village of Matsqui, on the east side of Highway 11 on Hargitt Street just off of Hargitt Road. The word Matsqui derives from the local First Nation language Halkomelem and means a "stretch of higher ground.". Although the building is no longer there, this location is now known as the Abbotsford Train Station and picks up people for The Rocky Mountaineer train. In the 1970s, my family often would pick up relative that travelled the train from Alberta.  I always found it to be exciting to see the train pull up and deliver family members for us to visit with. It is one of my more memorable locations that gives me a warm family feeling. The town of Matsqui is not far; so, it is worth the drive to see this cute little town.

If you have a chance please listen to the song that this cache is named after.

Lyrics by Johnny Cash, sung by Johnny Cash

I hear the train a comin'
It's rolling round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when,
I'm stuck in Folsom prison, and time keeps draggin' on
But that train keeps a rollin' on down to San Antone.

When I was just a baby my mama told me "Son,
Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns."
But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die
When I hear that whistle blowin', I hang my head and cry.

I bet there's rich folks eating in a fancy dining car
They're probably drinkin' coffee and smoking big cigars.
Well I know I had it coming, I know I can't be free
But those people keep a movin'
And that's what tortures me...

Well if they freed me from this prison,
If that railroad train was mine
I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line
Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay
And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away...
