Ermida nas imediações da entrada da cidade de Serpa. Junto à cabeceira da ermida ergue-se um cruzeiro de cantaria com base e dois degraus.

Arquitectura popular, manuelina, vernácula. Interpretação vigorosa da corrente manuelina em vigor na transição do séc. 15 para o séc. 16, segundo os padrões da arquitectura tradicional da região. Este edifício assinala uma notável elaboração desta corrente tipológica, atestando o conhecimento de uma fórmula mais erudita do que é habitual no quadro do património edificado do Baixo Alentejo dessa época. Fiel aos modelos tradicionais da arquitectura manuelina da região, esta igreja destaca-se como um dos modelos mais sofisticados dentro da sua tipologia, em particular pela elaborada composição dos contrafortes escalonados, de grande vigor formal, o que lhe confere um perfil exuberante, muito do agrado da interpretação regional da sintaxe daquele estilo durante a primeira metade do séc. 16

Popular architecture, Manueline, vernacular. Vigorous interpretation of the Manueline current in the transition from the 15th  to the 16th century, according to the standards of traditional architecture in the region, this building marks a remarkable development of this typological trend, attesting to the knowledge of a more erudite formula than is usual in the context of the built heritage of Baixo Alentejo at that time. Faithful to the traditional models of Manueline architecture in the region, this church stands out as one of the most sophisticated models within its typology, in particular for the elaborate composition of the stepped buttresses, with great formal vigor, which gives it an exuberant profile, very much of the appreciation of the regional interpretation of the syntax of that style during the first half of the 16th century.
