Geocache Description:

The cache is a small food jar hidden at my very favorite spot in Purisima Creek Open Space (and just off one of my favorite trails on the peninsula). I hike in this preserve often but had never hidden a cache within. I decided this was the ideal spot to start. The location is centrally located within the preserve and will require at least a 6 mile hike (round trip) to reach it. Thus the name.

Important note: A fairy ring is a common name for a group of redwood trees growing in a circle, usually around the stump of a logged old-growth tree. After being cut down, a new generation of trees sprout from the roots of the fallen redwood, often creating a near-perfect circle or ring. This is one of the ways redwoods regenerate, giving them the tremendous advantage of already having a full root system compared to species that reproduce through seed. [excerpt from POST website]

As expected, the coordinates were extremely jumpy during my hide-visit; for instance, two sets of averaged measurements were over 50 ft apart. (Alternate coordinate suggestions are accepted). But if you read the entire description and use the hint, the cache location should be clear. There is no need to navigate any steep slopes, but the last few feet may require a long reach.

Congrats to _usop for FTF!
