XKCD is a comic that I have enjoyed for quite some time, after finding a cache similar to this, I wanted to bring it to Arkansas. Geohashing sprung from this cartoon humorously based on using the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the current date to caclulate a physical location. It was turned into an alternative coordinate system.
