Mt. Bachelor Ski Area is one of the most popular destinations in Central Oregon and a big part of the region’s history. The ski area was founded by Bill Healy on December 19, 1958 with a rope tow and a single lift. It has since grown to be one of the largest ski resorts in the U.S., boasting a wide variety of terrain and recreational activities. The Mt. Bachelor Bike Park offers lift-served access to more than a dozen miles of downhill-oriented trails. The ZipTour zip line opened in 2020 and provides a unique mountain experience that was a decade-long collaborative project between Mt. Bachelor and the USFS.
