Drake Park opened in 1910 and was the city of Bend’s first park. Named after Alexander M. Drake, a developer who built one of two mills that would set the stage for the lumber industry that dominated Bend’s economy for over 80 years. Drake is also responsible for building the dam that was Bend’s first power plant, creating what is now Mirror Pond.
Performing Arts in the Park: The stage near this geocache is home to theatrical and musical performances during the summer months including the Munch & Music concert series and Shakespeare in the Park.
