Geocache Description:

GOING BATTY #5

Welcome to my new Bat caches.  When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats.  I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Bat Fact #5

Bats eat A LOT of bugs!

The amount of insects that bats can eat is significant. It has been estimated that some species consume upwards of 6,000 bugs in an hour!

Because bats make such an excellent natural insecticide, many people try to attract them to their backyard to help control mosquitoes.
