This cache is part of a series of caches dedicated to the reminiscence and admiration of Roseville’s early dwellers. It is part of a series of caches called “CACHE OUT IN ROSEVILLE”
Right next to Historic Old Town Roseville and close to the Carnegie Museum is a concrete arched bridge. Known to locals as THE CROOKED BRIDGE, it was constructed in 1929 to replace an older wooden bridge. The older bridge (built in 1907) connected the new Sierra Vista sub-division to old town, spanning many lines of railroad tracks. In order to finance the new bridge, a $50,000 project bond was passed by the voters.
This is a very fun bridge to cross over – by car, by bicycle, or by foot You can see THE CROOKED BRIDGE from this cache. You may have even crossed over it to get to this cache. It is very narrow by today’s standards, but it is fun to reminisce about all of the models of cars (old and new) that have passed over these two bridges over the years.
