Geocache Description:

Just down the street (267 Somerset Street) was the home of  Augusta and Edward Tennyson from around 1920 to at least 1930. Augusta was the younger sister of murder victim Eleanor Mills; Augusta was therefore also the aunt to Eleanor’s children, Charlotte and Daniel Mills. Charlotte and Daniel visited their Aunt Augusta here on the very night of their mother’s infamous murder, September 14, 1922. Two days later, on the morning of Sept 16, 1922, Eleanor’s husband, James Mills, visited Augusta to let her know that Eleanor was missing. It was in this home that reporters contacted Eleanor Mills’ kin (the one with a telephone anyways) and it was in this home that her sister Augusta and her husband James first learned that two bodies were discovered on the outskirts of town. The two bodies were later identified as being Mrs. Eleanor Mills and Reverend Edward Hall.

Scan the QR Code to hear the moments before Augusta Tennyson answered that fateful telephone call that informed her of her sister's death.
