Geocache Description:

Berms are human constructed linear earthen banks typically used by cities to control water in some way.

They stop water from moving too fast down hill, or force it to a preferred path.

This cache is located off of Ospika hill between Range Road and Davis Road. You can park at either end of the hill but not on the hill. There is no parking on the hill as it is an arterial roadway. There are 3 ways in:

a) If you go from Davis Road downhill, pass the housing complex, and you will go around the bend and find yourself walking alongside a berm.

b) If you hike or cycle up from the base of the hill, you will pass a city bench. Continue up the hill around the next corner and you will see the berm to the right.

c) There is a large empty lot a block in on Davis Road. The locals use it to walk their dogs as an informal dog park. It's quite popular, and you might find one or two families using it at any time, even at night. There is a short trail in from this lot to the cache that goes between the housing complex and the houses on Barnes Drive.

The location is a creek, and there are several berms created by the city to control the water here.

The cache is a 4x6 lock and lock on the edge of a berm.
