Years ago Southward4 hid many great caches in the area. One of them was here and this replacement cache is dedicated to them.
According to that cache description a slotting machine is used for taking straight 'gouges' (i.e. removing material) out of metal parts. For example, a slotter can put a key way into a circular wheel hub. The type of 'gouge' made by the slotter machine depends on the type of cutting tool used.
Traffic in the area can be diabolical so do take care. Best parking is probably in King Street.
