Stepping through Cavtat Old Town Traditional Cache

Unfortunately there's been some continuing issues with this cache and there is no reaction from the owner. Since the cache no longer meets the Guidelines requirements, I am archiving it. I'm also archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you think you have legitimate reasons for lack of maintenance and want to restore the cache in the near future, please let me know as soon as possible by the email provided in my profile. The message must include the GC code and the name of the cache. If the cache meets the requirements of the Guidelines and the reasons for unarchiving are justified, I may unarchive the cache.

IMPORTANT:
In case of permanent archiving of the cache, the owners are obliged to remove everything that they have placed on the field in relation to the cache (container and all placed waypoints).

Geocache Description:


This cache is located in the heart of Cavtat's Old Town on a quiet residential street near to where we stay frequently. It is easily accessible however there are several steps up to the cache and many more if you continue further up the village. Be careful as residents may come out their door at any minute but for the most part the view to the location is limited to people using the street.

You can use this street to get up to the Mausoleum of the Racic family where there are stunning views of the town and over the water to Dubrovnik. If you hang around up there you will be directly on the approach path to Dubrovnik Airport and can see the shadow of the aircraft hit the roofs of the houses as they pass low over head.  

 

The restaurant at the end of the street do fantastic pizzas and unlike many of the restaurants in the village offer takeaway. We hope you enjoy Cavtat as much as we do! Happy hunting!
