About the memorial:
An ornate Latin cross in sandstone, atop a slender reeded column upon a square plinth. This sits upon a 4-tiered, octagonal base, surrounded by pebbles, within a grass island at the road junction opposite the church of St. Leonard.The square sandstone plinth bears the general commemoration on two opposite sides, whilst the remaining two opposite sides each contain the names of 2 men who died in WW1, giving ranks, full names and unit.
One name on the War Memorial is for L/C Mee of the Tank Corps.
Using A=1, Z=26 ETC take his forenames intals to give AB,C (Do NOT use M from the Surname Mee).
