Located along the edge of the Topanemus Water Shed and along a mountain bike trail in the Freehold Township area.
The kids used to call this Dead Man's Hill. The old dirt road was great for building up speed on your bike. If you time your final curb jump right, you could skid out just before sliding into Dead Man's Cove. Whem Topanemus Lane continues through here, the hair-pin turn at the bottom of the hill was call Dead Man's Curve. A keen observer can find the remains of an old car at the water's edge.
There are some seats by the edge of the lake that is a great viewing area for bird watchers
From the top of Dead Man's Hill, race to the bottom until you reach the flat straight-away. Continue straight until you reach Dead Man's Cove and then veer to the left. Head up the slight slope to the mess of fallen trees.
Search the large fallen tree for the remains of Dead Man.
