Geocache Description:

GOING  BATTY #16

Welcome to my new Bat caches.  When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats.  I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Bat Fact #16

Types of Bats

There are two main types of bat: microbats (suborder Microchiroptera), and megabats (suborder Megachiroptera).

Microbats (Suborder Microchiroptera)

There are around 930 species of microbats. Together they make up the suborder Microchiroptera.

Microbats occur all over the world. Most are insectivorous (insect-eating) and use echolocation, rather than sight, to locate their prey.
