GOINGÂ Â BATTY #18
Â
Welcome to my new Bat caches. When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats. I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too. Â

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Bat Fact #18
Â
Types of Bats
Â
There are two main types of bat: microbats (suborder Microchiroptera), and megabats (suborder Megachiroptera).
Â
Megabats (suborder Megachiroptera)
Â
The 197 species of megabat that make up the suborder Megachiroptera feed predominantly on fruit, pollen and nectar. This group includes the fruit bats found in tropical regions in the Old World.
Most megabats do not echolocate and instead depend on sight and smell to find their food.
