We now leave the forest track and are following the public footpath along the valley. This path takes the same route as the old tramway, if you look carefully you will see evidence of the rails being used as fence posts, and poking up through the track.
Go through the gates, remembering to leave them as you find them.
Once you've found the cache, look to your right. This is the first building connected to the mining industry. Inside are more old rails, and the entrance to one of the quarry tunnels. This is on private land, and is a dangerous building. Look safely, and use caution and common sense.
