Make sure to take the public footpath to the left which leads you past the old buildings, rather than following the track right uphill and in to the forest. The buildings here are the old blacksmiths and the slate dressing sheds. Here the slate would have been processed to reduce the slate that was not useful before it was transported along the tramway to the Corris railway.
Again, these are old buildings, and are on private property once you leave the public footpath. Use caution and common sense.
