This is a challenge cache, which means in order to log a find, there is an additional requirement beyond simply signing the log book. The physical geocache is located at the published coordinates. Read on for details.
Located in the centre of New Zealand's North Island, the Desert Road is a section of State Highway 1 running through the Rangipo Desert. It is one of the highest sealed roads in the country. The scenery is spectacular with panoramic views of the mountains of the Central North Island when the weather is good. At the summit, the road reaches an elevation of 1074m.
To complete this challenge cache and log it as found, you will need to fulfill both requirements below. You can do these in any order, but you must do both before logging "Found It":
1. You must find and log at least 10 geocaches in the North Island of New Zealand that are located above 1000m of elevation from sea level.
2. You must find and sign the logsheet in this geocache located at the published coordinates.
Please note that this challenge cache, although located at above 1000m, does not count towards the 10 cache finds in the first requirement. This is deliberately intended to be a pretty easy challenge to complete, with lots of available geocaches within the Tongariro National Park and Central Plateau region.
You can use the following challenge checker (thanks to the Seagnoid) to confirm you have met the first requirement (found 10 NI caches above 1000m elevation) and the challenge checker will also output some text that can be copied and pasted into your log to prove you have met the requirement:

Have fun!
