Memfis Mafia: After a lot of thought, I’m archiving this cache.
Since publishing it, I’ve moved a long way away—about 1,550 miles—and I’m no longer in a position to maintain it in the way I believe every cache deserves. While it’s never easy to let one go, the responsibility to the game and to future seekers matters more than keeping a listing alive in name only.
That said, this cache did exactly what I hoped it would do.
It was found by 20 people, which might not sound like a huge number at first glance—but anyone who has tackled a true mountain cache knows that every single find represents effort, planning, commitment, and a willingness to go a little farther than most. To everyone who made the climb, signed the log, and shared their experience: thank you. Your logs, photos, and stories are the real legacy of this hide, and reading them has been a genuine joy.
I also want to thank the reviewer who helped bring this cache into the world, and the broader geocaching community that makes hides like this meaningful. Caches don’t exist in isolation—they’re shaped by the people who seek them, care for them, and support the system that allows them to exist at all.
While this listing is coming to an end, the experiences it created don’t disappear. If this cache gave even a handful of people a reason to explore, to push themselves, or to stand somewhere memorable and take it all in, then it did its job.
Thank you all for being part of it—and for making this game what it is.
