One of the venues for the 1984 Winter Olympics was Mount Trebevic. Bobsleigh and sled races took place in this area. Remains of fortifications built during the Austro-Hungarian monarchy rise near the former finish line. The fortress of the II. lost its significance after World War II, so in the 1960's years the buildings were transformed into observatories. Scientific activity came to an end in the "Balkan War" that broke out in 1990. In the summer of 1992, the place permanently lost its scientific potential as it functioned better as an artillery position - perhaps that is why it was shoot out too.
In its present state, the lower levels of the ruin building can be traversed with minimal care. However, for those who whish to be higher, the challenges are also higher! However, the connection between Heaven and Earth here can be seen by everyone near the pedestals of the former binoculars.
