Omau Section. - Cape Foulwind to Tauranga Bay of the Kawatiri Coastal Trail.
From Omau to the Cape as it’s known locally takes you through native forests and lake views.
Mountain views of the Paparoa Ranges and Aoraki/Mt Cook on a clear day. The lake here was the quarry from the Cement Works and the road down there the “Haul” road for carting to limestone to the cement works which has been demolished.
The track takes you to the Seal Colony Car Park at Tauranga Bay with stunning views of the Bay and Wall Island.
