---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Norwich is the county town of Norfolk and is a popular destination for a city break. Attractions include Norwich Cathedral, the cobbled streets and museums of old Norwich, Cow Tower, Norwich Castle and Dragon Hall.

Alongside Colman's mustard and Stephen Fry, Norfolk is probably most famous for the Norfolk Broads, an area of outstanding natural beauty with over 125 miles of navigable lock-free waterways set in beautiful countryside. The county also has many seaside resorts, including some of the finest British beaches, such as those at Great Yarmouth, Cromer and Holkham.

A synopsis on Norfolk wouldn't be complete without mentioning Norwich's finest, comedy character Alan Partridge portrayed by Steve Coogan. AHA! Alan, a tasteless, inept broadcaster with an inflated sense of celebrity is widely regarded as one of the greatest British TV characters of all time. He first appeared on Radio 4 in 1991 and then shot to fame in the brilliant 1997 BBC sitcom, I'm Alan Partridge, which followed Partridge's life working for a small radio station. On the back of I'm Alan Partridge's success a feature film, Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, was released in 2013 which was set, filmed and had its world premiere in Norwich.

In fact Norfolk has featured in a surprising amount of movies. The city of Norwich was used in the Marvel franchise movies Avengers: Age of Ultron, Antman and Spiderman:Homecoming. Norfolk's country houses were used in The Duchess, Eyes Wide Shut and All the Kings Men, Norfolk's beaches were used in Danny Boyle's Yesterday, The Eagle has Landed and the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love and Norfolk's Broads were used in scenes in the James Bond film Die Another Day and Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket.
