Geocache Description:

I've been watching Hockey Nite in Canada every Saturday for as long as I can remember. I've always been a Leafs fan & they have won 4 Championships in my lifetime. This series is a little lookback at my some old memories.

The 1964 Stanley Cup Finals was the championship series of the National Hockey League's (NHL) 1963–64 season, and the culmination of the 1964 Stanley Cup playoffs. It was contested between the defending champion Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings for the second straight year. The Maple Leafs won the best-of-seven series, four games to three, to win the Stanley Cup, their third-straight championship. As of 2019, this was the last time the Stanley Cup Finals had ended before the month of May. There would not be another game seven at Maple Leaf Gardens for almost three decades.

John William Bower (born John William Kiszkan;[1] November 8, 1924 – December 26, 2017),[2] nicknamed "The China Wall", was a Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender who won four Stanley Cups during his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 2017 he was named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players" in history.

Bower is still my all time favorite goalie. Spent many Saturday nites watching him with my Dad. He was fearless and played without a mask.
