Geocache Description:

GOING  BATTY #56

Welcome to my new Bat caches.  When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats.  I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Bat Fact #56

Big Brown Bat

Big brown bats (Eptesicus fuscus) are the most commonly seen bat in Colorado. When emerging at night to forage, they make straight swift flights about 20-30 feet above the ground. They forage in open areas and eat large and small insects. They also come to outdoor lights to catch insects. Brown bats are year-round residents of Colorado, hibernating in places like mines, caves, fissures and other places. The big brown bat is more closely associated with humans than any bat.
