Geocache Description:

Historic Highway 56 Series

This cache is one in a series of caches along old hwy 56 between Calico Rock and Ash Flat. There will be several caches placed along this route at historical sites and landmarks.

Spring Creek Cemetery

The only information we could find on this little cemetery is that it was established in 1825. The following piece is from the encyclopedia of Arkansas referencing the area.

"The earliest school in the area was established late in the 1870s at Spring Creek, about three miles east of town, and was known as the Spring Creek Academy. J. A. Kerr, a highly respected educator, taught there."

The cache is a small bison tube hanging out at the back of the cemetery.  As always be respectful of the area.
