This cache is dedicated to one of my geocaching buddies, Kelly Bigelow. He went to the big geocache in the sky.
Kelly and I went on one of the first powertrail caches down in one of the fingers of Shasta lake. This was before anyone knew about powertrails. KOKOPELI was the hider. It was about 80 caches, culminating in a hike for a mountain goat. The last one was best;, an ammo can in a cave. Kelly adopted that picture for his image. We had fun and he whinned the whole time! lol! .
Kelly was always up for a challenge, he never backed down or gave up.
One trip was down in California. we stayed in Redding and grabbed all the geocaches we could. The next step was headed West to the coast, via whiskey town. One of the highlights of the trip was a jaunt down Vestal road. The theme was spiders and the terrain listed river crossings I thought a bridge was a river crossing I only had 2 wheel drive S-10 and it was deep, up to the doors! We cached all through Weaverville and stopped at Willow creek and visited the Big Foot museum. Then on to Futuna and Eureka. We were burnt out on the 6th day of caching so we quit.
Kelly's funeral is being held in the eagle Point V.A. cemetery. Friday November 12 at 1pm. All friends are welcome. It was a Military ceremony; very nice..
Those who cannot attend can leave a memory in the log and maybe a picture of Biggie.
The terrain for the cache hide is challenging. a 4x4 maybe will get there. I parked at the water tank and hiked down.Parked @ N 42 27.365 W 122 47.228. and hiked down 88 meters due West. (about 290'ft.)
This one is a little tough; just like Biggie.
