GOING BATTY #61
Welcome to my new Bat caches. When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats. I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates.
Bat Fact #61
Most of a bat’s wing is hand. The name of the mammal group that includes bats, its Order, is Chiroptera which literally means hand wing. The finger bones are much longer in proportion than ours, especially compared to the forearm, elbow and upper arm bones. A thin, double membrane of skin connects the long fingers with the rest of the arm and the bat’s body to create the flying surface.
