BYOP and extractor.
As my K9K8 nickname indicates: I love dogs! I grew up with 14 different dogs and have had 4 dogs of my own. My first vocation was as an engineer; once a geek, always a geek. As a second career I switched to dog grooming. I like to claim that I have had hundreds of pets, but only a few are 24/7. I’ve since retired from both careers. Both science and animals have enriched my life. All my cache hides will have something to do with the dogs I’ve known and loved.
The name of this cache comes from my parents dog “Sylvia”. She’s a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and was purchased as a lap dog to keep my Mom company after my mother had a stroke. My folks named her after a lady that is the center of a family vacation story. Still to this date, my 92yo Dad gets into a giggle fit when he tells the story.
Sylvia is a blenheim color – red and white patches. Her nicknames are “Patches”and “Pumpkin Patch”. We sing songs to our dogs. Sylvia gets two modified songs: the first is Julia by The Beetles sung with her name instead; the second is Patches written by Clarence Carter, covered by Elvis… you get it and now we’ve given you two earworms…
Always keep your guard up when geocaching, socializing with animals of any kind.
