It's Oktoberfest season and time for a geocaching tribute to yodeling! Yodeling is a form of singing which involves repeated and rapid changes of pitch between the low-pitch chest register and the high-pitch head register or falsetto. This vocal technique is used in many cultures throughout the world and dates back thousands of years, to the domestication of animals. The Swiss are credited with popularizing rural alpine yodeling, however the origins of this skill can also be traced to traditional folk music of Scandinavia, Africa and Siberia. Cowboys and Cowgirls have also been known to yodel and Tarzan's famous yell is a form of yodeling.
Feel free to yodel while enjoying the 3/4 mile round trip hike to this cache from designated parking in Crosby Lake Regional Park - paved trail most of the way. Search for a camouflaged container with room for swag and trackables. Please rehide carefully to keep it safe. Park hours: Sunrise - 10PM. Registered with St. Paul Parks & Recreation Dept.
