The Church gets a mention in Simon Jenkin's book England's Thousand Best Churches. It has a fine chancel that dates from about 1340 and the tower dates from about the 17th century. The tower houses a ring of eight bells considered to be one of the finest in the country for the weight of the tenor bell (13-3-7 in the key of E#). The tenor bell is also the heaviest of the known 142 Royal Head's Bells. It depicts the busts of King Edward III (r 1327-1377) and Queen Phillipa shown below.

The arcade in the nave dates from about 14th-15th century and the clerestory was added at a later date. The wooden roof of the nave is interesting and has many wood carvings including a green man, monsters and devils and many more figures. More information is given on the website listed below.
